In my opinion, nothing is more beautiful than the shape and look of the Harley shovelhead's heads (as far as heads go) This is my 1979 FXE. My nephew's first ride. I scared the hell out of him going down a very steep hill - he's a teenager now and he remembers it like it was yesterday - hehe.
Here's pics of the old Shovel. Bad thing is I broke down and bought a Twin Cam (which I should pick up this week)
But, still keeping the Shovel (Til the day I die!)
well i got to get in here on this, yearly rebuild mabey, hav'in one that not just like the guys down the street defintaly,i'm sick of the o6 bobs allready, the trick to a shovelheads long life is to balance the bottom end,put modern parts on it, starter, oil pump, upgrade oiling system, and lifters, and ignition, they will run as long as anything else out there.the sound of a high comp. shovel is like no other, put a well thought out shovel together and let the fun begin.havin a bike is a hobby and way of life, so if i got to work on it than thats the way it will be.they say get rid of that( shoveldead)( troublehead) that probaly because there tired of gett'in there butts kicked buy my old home brew shovel.
