Default 2009 CVO Road Glide Front end Wobble

Picked up bike 2/24/09, put approx 2000 miles--no problems, except seat(prefer seat on '01 Eagle-corbin). Put chopped tour pack on, have not kept it on the bike it since I bought it home from dealer in Feb, put it on when we went on road trip......now bike has bad wobble @ approx 50-55
dealer checked steering head---still has wobble even without tour pack, tire rebalanced....no help.....bike has 2500 miles on it...

Dumb question...but are you getting the wobble with your hands on the handlebars at steady speed or is it occuring when you decelerate without your hands on the bars?

This seems to be a common problem with these bikes. I get it with mine as well while decelerating through 45-40 with no hand pressure on the bars. Maybe some others can chime in and explain this common problem.

Default 09 frond end wobble

There is a HD service bulletin out to dealers addressing this issue. While it is not considered a safety issue they have found the early tires have a tread pattern direction that causes a low speed wobble. Dunlop has updates the tires to reverse the tread direction that cures the wobble. The dealers have the authority from the MOCO to replace tires that have caused problems with the newer reversed tread direction.

Mine came stock with the Dunlop 408. The problem is with the 407. They cup out and look like a knobby in about 5000 miles. There’s a bunch of info on the forum about this issue. I have no wobble problem. Seems like every bike has a point during deceleration that you can feel a shimmy or wobble depending on the bike.

There is a service bulletin to replace the front tire if you feel it is dangerous!
