just got new skins on my 07 springer have 26000 miles only get about 7000 till my tire looks very thin. I didn't go to my local dealer who is straight up and very good. Went to the local high pro shop who I have been dealing with for 20 years, they sold me a dunlop sportmax roadsmart tire which they said was a multi compund tire hard in the middle and still soft on sides would wear better and still handle good. has anyone had these on their bike if so what can I expect?

I prefer Avon Venoms myself. I asked Avon engineers at a bike show recently about multi-compound tyres. They smiled and said they use construction techniques that don't need to use them. I have used Bridgestone multi-compound tyres for many years on my BMW and get on well with them, but can say the same about Avons on my Harley. Frankly you may not see any difference in wear pattern. Choose tyres by how well they ride on your particular bike.
