got a call from HD today.

they are replacing the 110 motor in my '07 FXSTSSE.
it's been in the dealer 4 times for the "product enhancement" gaskets, had the rear cylinder swapped to the front to try and troubleshoot an oil weeping problem, then the front cylinder was replaced and still weeped oil from the cylinder base.

I feel they are doing the right thing.
I am now a happy camper!

American Iron Magazine had a good article about this issue recently. Maybe it can add some fuel to your fire. Good luck, most class actions pay a pittance to plaintiffs and a fortune to the lawyers. What a great system!

Good for you.
Harley will stand behind their product even if they need to replace a few motors and a few gasket sets.
Harley may have had a few mistakes on this motor.
They have learned from it.
My 110 runs great with 22k miles and a gasket set. No big deal

It appears HD is working on the problem, just not fast enough for some.
I totally agree with Steve on this. Class action lawsuits are as big of a joke as our 3 over-priced, fluff filled bailout bills. The people in powerful positions continue to get richer and little guy still suffers.

I sure hope HD gets a handle on this one and addresses it with the proper levels of accountability. Would hate to see them get sued for millions when they can introduce their own program to make it right for all the SE owners.....

Default still not done

i have had my bike in at least four times with this issue. had gaskets changed a few times. then rebuilt. had gaskets changed again. then the recall was performed. a few miles after that, lots of engine noise. now, the engine is being replaced. hope that fixes it. tired of breaking it in.

I have a 2008 SE Springer. I have had no trouble with mine. I had it in for a 5000 mile service recently and I let them go ahead with the repairs, even though mine never leaked a drop. I let them do it because it is a limited time repair program. After the time is up, if you have a leak, it's your problem. I do have a sert on mine which helps with the temp problem. I don't know the actual temp of mine but it seems fine. I have almost 6000 miles on it now with no engine problems to date. I have a friend with a secu. He has around 4000 miles on his and it does have the dreaded oil leak. The service manager where I had mine worked on said that the only ones he saw leaking were the ultra's.

I have a 08 SE Dyna. And I have NO complaints about my bike. Yes I have to get the recall done so big deal. Its better than HD saying to bad guys. Damn Harley made Shell oil rich with all the old bikes leaking oil faster than you could pour it in.
