Default Going to Sturgis (2010)!

Ok so I know it's early but I live in Jacksonville, Fl. and the logistics and approval process (wife/work that is) takes time. I get almost a whole year of getting to plan this trip and I'm going to enjoy every minute. Already got some reservations going and working on the routes. Jack Daniels distillery, H-D factory tour in Kansas City, Black Hills, Badlands and of course the 70th anniversary of the rally what else could you ask for!! Any must do's, don't misses or good eats you can think of would be welcomed.

Have you decided where you are going to stay yet? The party is definately at the Buffallo Chip and Glencoe campgrounds. The downside is that you have to pass through Sturgis to get to any of the rides.

I would love to stay out at a campground near Deadwood... Centrally located to all the rides and Downtown Sturgis... Up in the hills with a lot more trees, shade and charactor.

You will love it...

I went this year and stayed in Deadwood. 15 minute ride to Sturgis and close to Rushmore and Crazy Horse. You gotta check out Needles Highway. One of the best rides IMHO.

Question any other great rides

I too am planning for Sturgis in 2010. I am very interested in this thread. I have also heard some rumors about buffalos and bikes, is there any truth to them charging bikes?

We didn't have any charge us, but they sure weren't shy about blocking the road for minutes at a time.

Sturgis....good times man. Your going to have the most fun. We'll be back again in 2010 and most likely will be sleeping in the hauler again right off main street. If you really want to save money, people will let you pitch a tent in their yard and showers are normally walking distance from about anywhere in Sturgis. I even saw a few guys with just sleeping bags sleeping beside their bikes but I would hate to have another hail storm pop up like last year...that would suck without shelter.

Never too early to start thinking of Sturgis in my book! Been going for the last 7 years and have yet to have a bad time. Stayed in campgrouds and motels but the campgrounds are alot more fun imo.. No matter where you stay you will have fun!
