pack your rain gear on top of everything. you don't want to be unpacking stuff to get to it. pack a roll of asswipe. truck stop asswipe is not a guarantee.

You'll find the more you travel the less you'll take...as others have said...use laundry facilities at motels. We wear alot of light weight material clothing that can be washed and rinsed in the sink at night....ring it out and it will be dry in the morning.

This site could help you narrow things down and create a list that you can tweak in future years....

All the above or....

make a trailer hitch and buy or make a trailer. I did that with a Sprotster and went everywhere with mama. I was a lot younger in those days.

We went to sturgis this year for the first time. We brought WAY too much. My best advise, wear one pair of jeans and bring one more ( switch off), bring maybe 2 or three t-shirts, as you will buy a TON there. Then you can then have a new clean t-shirt when needed. Bring just enough underwear and socks ( and tell the wife one bra is enough). We stayed in a cabin, and mailed up sleeping bags, towels ect, and UPS gave us a return label to ship back. All you do is call for the pickup when ready.

There are huge deals on everything harley there, you really do not need much. and use zip lock bags and squeeze the air out, also saves space.

So basically pull out everything you "think" you will need and cut that in half and that will be perfect.

Yeah, the box may be flat, but the price to ship is inflated, because they go thru Priority mail....I can ship a whole lot more in my own box via Parcel Post for way less bucks.

True. I guess it just depends on how the dumpster looks before we go in.
Might still pay the extra.

I don't care what kind of motorsickle you have, you won't have enough room. The essentials are rain gear and cold weather gear, (yeah I know Sturgis is in August) but you will need cold weather gear. After that is packed then see how much room you have left, then fill it up with clothes. Probably about 2 or 3 days worth is all you can get in the remaining room. Then ship or buy the rest. Besides an overloaded motorbike is no fun at all. Having too little is way better than hauling around too much stuff all the time.

Take half the clothes and twice the money you think you'll need.
