My Brother and I are planning on riding the Blue Ridge Parkway over a two day period. We are looking for a good biker friendly hotel on the north end and in the middle. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Search Station Inn ,up around 260 mile marker right off the BR on hiway 18. This is a biker restaurant/motel but could be heck to get a room on a weekend. Come on down to the Sprue pine/ Burnsville area off hiway 226 and hiway 80 and both have bike friendly motels in town .Both with in walking distance to food . On the BR at LSD (Little Downtown Switzerland )is Swiss Inn that is more up scale call to see if open depending when you come. These are in the 380 mile marker range i think. I live here but down't pay attention. Hi 80 to burnsville would be the current exit from Mt. Mitchell so this is not out of the way and is a nice small town. Once you get down to the south in there are lots of campground with cabins and motels between maggie vally and cherokee. Go to( carolinmcevnts.com )web site and see if you find more usefull info there encludeing things to do event wise when here. Drop a message when comeing.
The Quality Inn in Waynesboro, VA (on the north end) is good - you can park your bike right outside your window, and you're just a couple of miles from the Parkway. The Comfort Inn in Black Mountain, NC is also good for the same reason (although it's more towards the south end and several miles off the Parkway. The Parkway had a section that was closed near Black Mountain, so when I went through in October it was a convenient stop).
Some good information about the BRP (including NPS maps) is available on my blog at One Ride To Live

My wife and I stayed at Lonesome Pine Cabins 5 years ago, very quiet, great views, and it's right on the parkway at Fancy Gap, VA. This is their web site: http://pages.prodigy.net/tcnelson1/
Also in Fancy Gap is the coolest little mom and pop motel. Three buddies and I stayed there two years ago, the "mom's" daughter was running the place. I can't remember the name, but is a brown brick building only about 200 yards north of the intersection of the BRP and US58. Across the street is a pretty nice family restaurant.

I think that the name of the motel at BRP and US58 is Mountain Top Motel. Also, I attached a pic from our stay at the Lonesome Pine Cabins. Fancy Gap is about 20 miles from the VA/NC border.

The hotel at Little Switzerland was pretty cool. It is a middle area. It was by far the most expensive place we stayed on our trip. The rate was $120 a night. We ended up there after riding for over 40 miles in one heck of a thunderstorm. The desk clerk was kind an gave the room to us for $100 because of the weather.
They had a nice bar in the hotel. Quite a perk in a dry county when the liquor store that is 10 miles down the mountain in a different county lost power due to the storm. You know I only found that out after riding down the mountain.

stud07hd both the mountian view and the rock motel at hiway 226 at the sprues pine exit sell beer and wine and the little corner LSD just west of swiss inn has a beer and wine store in it to and you could stagger there. If in the area again Pine inn motel in sprues pine has a golf coures across the street ,walk to the first building you see up there and its also a beer wine store. and some of the locals around burnsville can probly get some of the clear stuff to. Next time up here come thrue Burnsville way as part of the detour. Nice town, a couple of real nice old motels and inns in town but bring your drinks with you if needed. That inn you stayed in and mostly all from the BR south in that area is in a wet county. Good area around here with lots of great roads and good places to shop and stay ,jewl mines, but with out a good maps and research you miss most.
