tnharley7,
that looks really sharp! im wondering though, cause i got a couple old ones, if oil would seep into the cracks and how easily it would be to wipe them off. also i have a tablelift, would that eat up the mats??
i must say though, looks better than epoxy.
how much are the tiles?

The tiles lock pretty tight together. If you get some oil under them, a single tile is easy to remove with a putty knife. I have a full size table lift and have not noticed any wear at all from the lift. According to RaceDeck, these tiles are fully rated for autolifts, so a motorcycle lift should be no sweat. The tiles currently are $2.09 per sq ft with free shipping at BigFloors.com. The tiles I used are GarageTrac, which is made by RaceDeck and is made in the USA. Jerry

I applied the Epoxy and paint chips several years ago, and it looked great...Untill I washed my bike and went to back it into the garage...Damned near dropped the scoot (wearing good riding boots) due to slippery when wet syndrome..
Went on-line that day, ordered the tiles from Costco.com They sell the white and black tiles for 99.99 per 48 tiles.
They also carry HD desgned flooring...its a bit more costly...159.00 per 48 tiles. Comes in black, orange and alloy.
The Black and white holds up very well. After almost 5 years, it still looks good. A few light stains from spills, but most things wipe right off. I powerwash the floor twice a year, and that seem to work well.
I've been considering a garage tile type floor but am concerned about how it would hold up under my J&S jack. Anyone know what these floors are rated for as far as weight goes? I'd had to install it and get the bike stuck because the jack broke through the floor. (limited space I put it on the jack and push it against the wall)

Regular latex paint will work just fine. I base coated mine one color, then added a second color, and finally topped it off with a couple of coats of poly. If you want some "grit" add some sand to the poly. This is my basement. I have two rooms done this way that take a heck of a beating. They still look great.

that looks really good. i especially like the hd designed tiles with the bar and shield logo on them, but they seem only available in the states. unless i order them but there pretty pricey to start with.
xxxflhrci, that basement paint looks sick. but im no pecosso. how the hell you do that?
those tiles,do you know where he got them? carpet for me would only get dirty and saturated with oil.
but i am going tolook into the latex and poly idea.

thanks everyone.
The tiles are commercial floor tiles like are put down in nearly every public building...schools, hospitals, Walmart, ect. They are less than a buck per 12 inch tile. Putting them down is pretty easy. Once they are down you wax and buff them to make them shine. My buddy uses his garage as a garage and the floor still looks great. He even has drains in the floor and washes his vehicles in there. Water doesn't hurt 'em.
The paint way is very easy. Pick your colors. Roll on the first color. Use a sponge to dab on the second and if wanted third or more colors. Roll on the poly....If you want you can use 1/4" masking tape and mark the floor off in grids after the first coat, then sponge paint the other coat(s). When you peel up the tape, the floor will look like tiles with grout in between.
