I'm almost done here, guys...and I'll try to start answering more than asking (got computer probs? PM me! )

Got an aftermarket starter ring gear (66T) and pinion gear (9T) and...they don't seem to mesh all that well. Nothing's installed yet except the ring gear on the clutch assembly...just curious if the ring and pinion gear should fit each other more closely? See pics

am I thinking too much?

Dave how did it hold up and sound? What year / motor is that on? I think the bevel sisde of the gear should be reversed and dont see the bevel on the pionon gear. it almost looks backwards
