Ok if you insist. Mount 2 AK-47 to each side of the fairing. Load the saddlebags with fertilizer and racing fuel. Ride into Milwaukee and through the front door and up the steps to the R&D Dept and Customer Unservice and let them have this pile back.

I was back to the dealer today. He told me this is it, it is what it is. I told him I wasn't satisfied with that. He offered to sell it for me if I was willing to sell for less than I paid for it. I told him I would call him back tomorrow and let him know what I decide. This would so simple Harley would just make it right.
Just had to say something.... some of these messages have such poor grammar that it is hard to understand what they are saying... if you can't come close to the actual spelling, run your text through a spelling checker so the rest of us can understand what you are talking about. wait not waight, warranty not warrenty, questionaire not questenair, commute not comute, disgusted not discusted... or maybe it is just kids slamming Harleys.
I'm glad you said it first, there are so many other examples I don't even want to go there, or is it their or maybe they're.

There was another guy that posted after his compensator was re-torqued the noise went away! Has anyone else tried this (not just the inspection) actually torqueing the nut again?

...I find it hard to believe that - if retorqueing the nut really would fix it - the factory would not be recalling bikes to perform such a relatively simple procedure. After all, they ARE getting a LOT of bad press about this (eventhough they say that each individual case is "the first we've heard about it").

Been screeming this at all you guys for weeks now. ( PUT BIKE ON A DYNO, PULL THE PRIMARY COVER, START MOTOR, MAKE IT RATTLE,AND WATCH THE PARTS DANCE )
This is not a trans problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my riding buddies just bought a 2007 Roadking Classic, he has been complaining about 5th gear noise also. He has had no luck with the dealer. They say that the noise is normal for the "07". Mechanicly it is fine, you just gotta live with the whine. I have no first hand knowledge of trany noise, I ride a Goldwing. LMAO
I'd love the whine. Anyone want to trade my clatter for their whine???? I never have had the whine. (I know it's going to be hard to resist whining comments. Try.)
3500 miles on 07 Road King Classic. If it weren't for this noise...I'd think I'd died and gone to motorcyle heaven. Big "if". After trading in a Sporty, it exceeds so many of my expectations I can't begin to tell you. If anything, I think it's just getting broken in power-wise. Seems to get quicker and smoother with every mile.
That's what makes this clatter almost worse. If bike were junk, it would just be one more thing. As it is, it's a huge gap between damn near perfect and something I keep trying to get over - but can't. Yeah, guess I'm one of those RUBs that thinks Harley should be held to the same standards as everyone else. What the hell was I thinking? I guess having problems like this is part of the Harley charm. If that's the case, next time it's someone other than HD for a less "charming" bike.
I'll be putting it away for a long winter's nap pretty soon. Silly me, I'm still hopeful that the factory will step up to this thing.
Im guilty! Of not being able to spell every word exactly but give me a break if you cant understand me or the rest of us who mess up, you are the kid cause a educated adult can read between the lines and figure things out. Some of us grew up in the real world not in cyberspace. I never worked a keyboard till a few years ago when my son kept on my a$$ (thats ass if you missed it), so he could e-mail me, and spelling words was not a daily part of my working life, building and operating several of my own companies. You sir sound like one of those Honda troll's that come here to stir us up! 99% of us are not slamming harleys except those draggin bagger guys. LOL We are just kicking around ideas and some venting and as for d-rod he just cant find anywhere else to use the word "fudge packers" LOL
