Default Clutch Adjustment

I start this admitting that I am not a mechanic in any shape or form. But, that said, I was smart enough to buy a manual for my 2000 EG before I started. I had a clutch cable freeze up due to rust (I am assuming) and was able to replace it myself. Put everything back together and took it out for a short trial run and noticed that the clutch engaged without much pressure on the clutch lever at all...maybe a 1/4 " of pull. Then I went out onto the road at highway speeds and discovered the adjustment is really off...too much RPM and the clutch enages.
I need to back it off and I cant seem to find where this is done...the cable adjustment on the cable? The Primary side? The transmission point of connection to the cable?
Any help would be appreciated. I just got the "Fix My Hog" DVD's and was going to go through that but I can't see where it addresses it.
Thanks in advance!!!

I have Fix my Hog DVDs and if I remember correctly, you will find it under the transmission/clutch segment...

Sounds like you have it tightened too much. But I am new at this myself...so don't take my word for anything!

Primary side, engine cold.

I use this method and generally back mine off a full turn so that the clutch engages closer to the grip.
