ATF in primary??? What makes you choose one ATF over another??

All ATF's are very high in detergents and it won't make any difference which one is used in a stock HD primary.

I have tried Dexron and Type F in my '08 Ultra. The only thing I noticed was the clutch would grab a bit earlier in the release using the Type F.

As I prefer a smoother clutch release, I stuck with the Dexron stuff. And ATF almost completely eliminated the first-gear "clunk."

I'll be going to ATF when my RL stash I got cheap runs out. I have 8 qts of ATF from my Yukon sitting on the shelf. One or two quarts of the RL left so it will be a long time.

I use the red kind. That way I know what's leaking.
