Day 143 Lisa update
Today broke with bright clear skies and 80 degrees forecasted. It was a beautifuly cloudless, perfect riding day.
I knew she was ready, so I asked her after breakfast if she wanted to take a ride today. A quick grinn said all I
needed to hear. I broke out her helmet and gloves. Chaps and of course, her Lucky butterfly vest.
They cut this off her,but I had it fixed for her.
I had StreetBob escort us but there were no problems at all. She loved it.
Probably the only problem was the bugs in her teeth from smiling so much.
Lisa is doing Great. She is using her right arm for everything. Movements are great, just a matter of more strength.
My church still feeds us for 3 days a week, a true blessing of time for me, and she has gained 15 pounds from
pre wreck wt. 25 from when she started eating real food.
She talks alot louder now and is still improving in memory. Therapists are all very happy.
Foot has relaxed with botox therapy. She is walking easier and even some at home. She can stand on her own,
but it scares the crap out of me. She is stronger all the time. Believe it or not, She went to Florida last week.
We have a timeshare and were going to loose the week. Thanks to Southwest 3 day sales, I flew Her and her Mother
to Orlando. The 4 kids and I drove Friday night and picked them up Sat afternoon. She loves laying in the sun, and
did just that. Thanks to a power chair on loan to us, she had a easy time doing alot of what we always did.
We let the kids use some tix from 2006 and Her mom took them to the Parks for a day.
She enjoyed the jacuzzi baths and the sun by the lazy river. We ate fresh oranges and just tried to relax.
It was perfect weather, and a nice time with the kids. She flew home Wed and the kids and I came home Thursday.
I want you all to know that Lisa is truely a miracle. There is no way that she could be this well without His touch. She remains
strong willed, and takes the pain in therapy. She will do anything I ask. I am proud of how strong she is. She has been teaching
my 11 yr old girl how to cook.
Thank you all for your prayers and support. It has been a long time, and she has come a long way.
With Gods help, she will make it all the way.
