American Iron Magazine had an article on how to read HD's part numbers. I will look this weekend and see if I can find it for you. Tim

Derek, if it is not too many, if you want send me the numbers. A lot of the parts manuals I have cover the early stuff. I also have an original cross index of HD part numbers dated 09-10-51. This lists HD part numbers showing old to new numbers. Not sure how old you are talking about tho.

My email is hd65flh@aol.com

Found the issue of American Iron Magazine. It is the January 2005 issue page 26. Excellent article on the break down of HD's part numbers. Tim

Just go to Chicago Harley on the web, click on parts and put in the part number. It doesn't give detailed information on the part, but it does tell you what it is, and sometimes, what year bike it's for... https://www.chicagoharley.com/
