Default Softail Standard Oil Tank Removal

Can anyone help me by telling me how to remove the oil tank from a 2004 Softail Standard. I want to hold off of buying a service manual as long as I can because I don't plan on doing much work on my bike to justify the price of a manual. I've tried looking for something on-line but I could not find anything.

Thank You

Dave

Default RE: Softail Standard Oil Tank Removal

Drain tank, remove seat, remove battery, remove rear exhaust pipe, remove oil lines. Look for the mounting hardware, remove same. Don't know about your '04, but my Sloptail has the ignition module mounted to the underside of the tank.
