i have a message that comes up on my computers background it says "Your system is infected! system has been stopped due to a serious malfuction. spyware activity has been detected. it is recommeded to use spyware removal tool to prevent data loss. do not use the computer before all spyware removed'' can you help me out with this? I have ran my antivirus multiple times and message still on background. Thanks

run this as well as spybot, will pick up what spybot dioesnt. you may find your anti-virus is pooched as well depending on the mal-ware in your system. This is a free download and there is lots of good info on the site.
what program is telling you this?...malware,viruses etc dont tell you they have infected your computer...maybe its the site you are viewing...AVAST,ADAWARE and SPYBOT are a good start...sounds like a pop up to me...:>)

Whatever you do, don't download or run the malware remover that the site is trying to direct you to. The same thing happened to my wife while I was at work several years ago. It tricks you into downloading the trogan virus and then it embeds itself into various files. I had to have Geek squad come out to fix it, No matter how many times I ran the software to eliminate it it resurfaced. At least the OL had sense enough not to put in her credit card and personal info when prompted by the so called malware removal. It was a very good fake though. It came up and looked just like a windows security threat. It could have been much worse.
