Default Yamaha VMAX?

I was looking into bikes that could feed my need for a little bit of speed. I tend to like to stick with 4 wheels when going fast but since I sold my 6.8L '04 GTO I've been itching for something to replace it that isn't as expensive.

I was looking around and realized that Yamaha released a new VMAX with 200HP. Really it seems like a good alternative to a VROD with a better riding position, more power, and still has an exotic look.

What do you all think? Has anyone seen one in person or been on one of the new ones?

I'm not looking for a corner carver just something to replace a muscle car.

That's as much muscle you're going to get out of the showroom. Jay Gleason ran a 9.5 @ 143mph in the 1/4 mile with it. That's as quick as the 1000cc superbikes.

There is one at the dealer here and it's a tough looking bike. I like the styling it's the last of the 80's muscle cruisers. I owned a V65 Sabre for more than 20 years and can tell you V4's make a lot of power through out the revs, the Vmax must be intense. I read it will lay down a strip of rubber in a few gears if you crank the throttle.

The B-King is it's rival, but butt ugly to me.

I really like Mr. Max. Looked at the new ones but overall think I like the older ones better. Wouldn't mind finding a new older model myself.

Guy offered to let me ride one many, many years ago......I got on it, hit the starter and then hit the kill switch and got off. Just sittin on it scared the hell out of me. Can't imagine riding one. Hottest bike I've ever owned was a Suzuki 500 Titan back in the late 1960's. Guess it was fast for it's time although I did get beat in a drag race by a yamaha 360 Enduro.
