I don't think it is a case for flame. I know lots of us that have other non-Harleys as additional bikes. I have a Honda also because Harley doesn't make a Trail bike. Love the dirt! ;-)

My brother in law had one several years ago. It was good looking, comfortable, scary fast, and just plain fun to ride.

The new Vmax? If someone gave me one of those ugly ass machines, I'd trade it off for a Harley the same day.

I think it is because the only equivalent HD has is the VROD....and the VROD isn't much of a competitor when this bike has 200HP.

Plus like was said, this is a relatively iconic bike...more muscle than it is rice.

I take it the VROD was created to compete with the VMAX? I saw one at a dealer here. I had no clue they have 200hp!!!! How much are they new?

They push 20K, not cheap, but coming from HD we should all be used to it.

From what I've heard directly from a couple of guys who are riding new V-Maxes, you can expect to get about 1000 miles out of the rear tire and about 70 miles range out of a full tank of gas. They drink gas and eat tires like there is no tomorrow. But other than that... BADASS bike.

I would imagine that most of that is because the riders are always trying to get all 200 ponies to working at the same time.

A promo vid said retail price was $17,990.. Most claims seem to be 197.5 hp but at the crank. If that's true, rear wheel (real world) figures will be lower.

The intakes are actually hand polished and clear coated...pretty good quality bike.

I imagine that with 197HP @ crank you are likely seeing 170rwhp or so. 170rwhp on a bike would put you in the low 10's in the 1/4th and maybe 9's with some great air.
