Default Saddlebag Crash Bars Fittment

I want to add the crash bars (not the wrap around rails) to my ride, like what comes stock on a limited. wanting black ones, but I will settle for chrome. Not so much for looks but to protect my bags in case of a tip over.

Wondering if pre 14 bars will fit, or If I have to get a set for 14+.

Pre '14 bars will not fit, they mount different in the rear, you will need this set: Harley Davidson Gloss Black Rear Saddlebag Guards-90200788. Or if you prefer chrome: Harley Davidson Chrome Rear Saddlebag Guards-90200787.

You'll have take the front apart so you can thread them through the back.

What? You simply take off the stock bag brackets and install the new set. They come complete with all new hardware needed. Take about 30 minutes to complete.

I just recently added them to my SGS ... Finished the install before I finished my cigar. Saved a few bus over my local dealers by ordering from Manchester Harley Superstore.

When I first got a limited the bars would look odd or strange the more I looked at them? But thay have been useful and kelp from rubbing a trash can once, haven't laid it over yet knock on wood, I think there worth putting on, the black may leave a mark easer? I added a HD leather bag with a drink holder on the left side, don't use it much but it looks ok. Just sayin iv looked at bikes without the bars and the bags are very exposed.

Put them on my 14 FLHX without any issues. Take off the current bar, add on the new bars, less than 45 minutes and I had to deal with my LED lights on the under bag bar.

As answered already, the 14+ are a new design, so older wont fit.

One of the first things that I installed on my 14 SG. Glad that I did. I have since replaced them once, and have new ones on order to replace them again. Both times I have been cut off/hit the bag guards saved a LOT of money. This second time they were not able to protect the left bag from damage, but were able to keep it to scratches only. That kept all of my crap from being blown away, run over, or otherwise lost.

I also use a watterbottle holder on each side as well.

They are simple to install. takes about 30-45 min. 4 fasteners to remove each side, 6 to install if I remember correctly. Seat, side covers, and saddle bags come off. easy day.
