Unlike regular garden variety thieves, precious metal thieves are very honorable. So much so, in fact, that they would not only leave the rest of the bike alone, they might be so appreciative of your gesture and making their job easy that they'd leave you some gas money on the bike, just a way too say thanks.

The material in your Cat converter is normally referred to as "honeycomb". I would suggest a hungry bear rather than hamsters. Trick is to be sure he only eats the honeycomb.

Default Rethink the species

I believe that a different critter should be selected as they are kind of universal for such things. Try the technique known for “gerbilling.”

Here's where it gets interesting. 2 Hampsters, 1 habitrail, no bedding. Attach habitrail to head pipe, drop in the hamsters and let them go to work. They will instinctively go into your head pipe, take out every bit of fiberglass in your cat and bring it into your habitrail for their bedding. Voila, better sound, more power for about $20.00.
Let me know how you make out.
Of course I'm only joking. (Or am I?)
Maybe gerbils work better?

I would like to think that all that have installed slipons have started their bike with the mufflers off, are they not loud enough without mufflers? Could be your slipons not the cat. I have done both with and without cat and still enjoy the radio and my hearing. Lesson learned some time ago.
