Default How much are you guys paying for insurance?

Hey All,

Well, I have an 09 Fat Bob arriving tomorrow and just got the adjustment on insurance from my 07 Sporty. My insurance has almost doubled to $1,000! I expected $100 maybe $200, but double!!

That's just as much as my old 2003 Audi RS6 that was a biturbo 450hp street rocket.

What gives??? I guess my CCs just doubled, so they matched insurance dollar for dollar too.

Also, I should add that I've only been driving for two years and I'm 36 if those matter.

Progressive, $500 deduct. Premium $428 year for my 2007 Softail Custom.

I also had some sticker shock when I got the original quote from Foremost last year. It was more than double the cost of my '07 Sporty. But consider the value of the Softail vs Sporty and throw in difference in engine size and there you have it.

This year the Foremost premium increased although I have no tickets or claims.

That's why I switched to Progressive.....and saved $200+.

544 here in canadian $ make that about 510 US 250 deduct , both ways F,T&V. But our license plate is outrageous 519 this year and 640 next year with the final increase in 2011 to 7 sumpin' and the sport bikers pay more than double what I pay.

I pay just under $300 per year on a 09 Dyna Custom with Foremost, mostly full coverage with towing but without medical. I changed from Geico when they nearly doubled my premium from $290 to $570 when I traded my 08 1200 Sportster to the new Dyna. It pays too look around.

Do you carry medical? That is usually why rates are high with a motorcycle. I have medical coverage through work...so I leave it off my bike.

Full coverage, 500 deductible...and I don't carry state minimums either. Those will get you in trouble if you hurt someone (at least in Oregon).

I have 3 vehicles and my home on the policy as well. Allstate.

$330 a year, no tickets/accidents and 9 years with the company. Your location makes a difference. If I lived in Portland or Seattle, my rates would most likely be double or triple.
