I know it's frustrating not to hear from the doctors for several days, but maybe it means something good. Probably if there were any problems, you would have heard by now, so "no news may be good news" in this case.
I would also like to suggest that you consider learning to drive the trike yourself. My wife says riding hers is a breeze, and she doesn't even like driving a manual shift car. Further, I rode on the back seat of her trike recently, my first time to ever ride on the back of any motorcycle, and I found it quite enjoyable. Sue didn't mind either, and she hates to have me watching her drive anything. My point is that since motorcycle touring seems so important to both of you, maybe you should give it a shot. It might also give Mac something to look forward to trying, which can be really helpful for the next few weeks.
I know I've seen where Braselton, GA is but can't remember... I have a sister in Northern Ga and my hubby lived in Thomson, GA for years...
Happy you guys got out for the weekend - we had an '07 Heritage Softail - traded it for the TriGlide - still have the '98 Sportster... Loved riding both of them - and the TriGlide is wonderful... You're correct, we haven't had any problems with 'heat' - actually, we've been pretty fortunate with our ride other than for being rear-ended (don't think we'd be here if we were on two wheels) and the cat/s with the leather seat... We've been riding since end of 1999 - did over 165,000 miles; two up on the '98 Sportster; another 32,000+ on the Softail and currently over 25,000 miles on the TriGlide... Love the reverse and the areas we can ride - took some getting used too with a wider rear end with the two wheels - stability has been great...
My wife and I took our first ride together on her trike this last weekend in North Georgia. It was her first foray after her mishap, and the first time sitting behind me and not in control. We managed about 450 miles for the weekend, most of it in one day in the mountains and country roads. I love my Heritage, but what a fun ride. I could see how this thing would be good for the kind of long runs you guys do, although my 6'3" legs got a little cramped. It will fit her perfectly. I was curious about your experience with heat. There has been a lot said, although I don't recall any heat posts from you. We had a fairly warm day (mid 80's) and several hundred miles of mixed speeds, etc., but we never experienced a heat issue. Just curious, because you seem to be the pacesetters on actual road experience.
Just received my 2010 Tri-Glide having a blast riding. Already added Floor board inserts for operator and passenger, horn cover, rear fender trim, chrome for the speakers and all instruments on dash.
Also shift linkage. Just changed oil today at 500 miles and will take in to dealer at 1000 miles.
Hello, and thanks for the friend request. I don't do a lot of forum stuff so I had to figure out what it was and how to respond. I have seen that you are indeed a traveler and I think that is great. I'm retired from the Armed Services but still working for another few years. Don't want to wish even a moment of my life away but I certainly look forward to the day of my second retirement so I have more time for riding. In the meantime, that's what my weekends and few weeks vacations are for.
thanks for the invite. i have yet to buy the trike and have been kicking around the idea of waiting for te '10s. soon as i make my decision on the trike i will post of this board.
Thanks for inviting me to your friends list. The trike people seem to be an easy going bunch. I'll probably be one of the first Street Glide trike owners in this bunch. I changed my order from a tri-glide to the SGT after getting a call from my dealer(Waukon Harley-Waukon IA). No idea on delivery time of course. Pretty sleak looking trike. Never really liked the ultra look. I have a EG classic. I'll keep you updated.
