Well I had them done by a local bike shop, and they had to extend the switch housing wires but those are done internally with the new bars. I researched for about 3 months on these bars and hands down these are the best in my opinion. the style and comfort are unsurpassed. If you are trying to put them on yourself then you can get the switch housing extenders from a web site called namz. I did not have to extend any of the cables with the new bars. the installer did reccommend extending about 2 inches but there isnt any safety issues involved. Good luck, what I did was get them from the harley dealer here in florida because they are a drag specialty dealer, and they were cheaper that way. I was charged about 4 hours labor to have them installed, so astand by for that charge. 200 for the bars and 200 for the install, so get out your wallet.
