I use a sears yellow jack and a floor jack together to lift the tri glide. Back and forth, kinda a pain but it gets the lob done.
My trunk leaked, but one trip to the dealer and it was fixed.

I know what you mean about many of the posts on this forum sounding negative, but I believe that with very few exceptions, the posters here really love their TriGlides. However, if you notice, most of these people seem to be very meticulous about taking care of their cycles, cars, homes, garages, etc. In other words, I think many of these people probably expect an expensive trike to match the perfection that they seek in most of their pursuits. So, it is normal for them to note the things that are not perfect about the TG. Having said that, you will also notice that virtually all of them say they love the TG. Kind of like loving a girl, but wishing she didn't have warts. That's fair.

Couldn't have said it better. For me its a love hate relationship. I love the comfort and handling of my Triglide but hate the heat generated by the toaster oven they call an engine. I'm also very disappointed in the Moco's attitude over the whole deal. They think its perfectly normal to spend 30k+ and get cooked at the same time. I have to say the folks at my dealer have been great considering how much I have voiced my displeasure of a premium motorcycle causing my right pant leg to run 140 degrees.

Ditto: Harley got so close on the 09 then took a giant leap backward for the 2010. Love the trike and get a lot of compliments and positive statements about the trike. My 03 Electra Standard was far from perfect I know but it was to me. When I got the mods I wanted to improve the machine I was a happy camper. They got so close with the 2010 and made several small improvements over the 09 that got the Trike close to perfection. Then they stuck the Catalytec Converter in the head pipe. Having said that once the cat comes off and I get the Trike back to 09 performance standards, I will stop chasing perfection.
I know the EPA had more to do with our heat problems or are as much to blame as Harley. Harley had two choices, water cool at least the heads or let the customer work out the related power and heat problems. I feel they shierked their responsibility in the quest for perfection in order to sell the add ons to the customer who they knew would not be satisfied with the area's in which they fell short.
The Harley owners search for perfection is money in the bank for Harley!

If all that exist is just an illusion, then I definately paid to much for my Harley!
Thanks Mike, I also have a 1500lbs. ATV/MC lift that if I position it so that the bike frame rail is only resting on the front jack fork, I can manage to lift all 3-wheels off the ground.
I don’t trust it enough to crawl under but for lifting the bike to spin the wheels when detailing its fine. When I want to clean the under carriage of the trike I put it up on the car lift.

I am more upset with MOCO’s attitude than I am with the actual problems:
One year and 3 attempts at fixing a trunk leak problem that should have NEVER occurred in the 21st. century!
Rather than assigning a new part number to the new and improved 2010 truck seal, they use the same part number as on the 2009; therefore, the dealer replaced my faulty 2009 seal with another faulty 2009 seal! But no problem, I’ll just have to make another 120 mile round trip to have the proper seal installed at no charge!
They replace my leaking steering damper but because the new and improved temp. range steering damper has the same part number as the faulty damper, nobody can tell me if I have the new damper or another leak prone damper. But once again, no problem if the new damper leaks, I should just travel the 120 mile round trip and they will replace it at no charge!
Harley’s district manager tells me that it is normal that your calf mussels should throb because you have to apply so much pressure to the rear brake pedal when stopped on a hill while waiting for a light to change! Harley’s solution…”use the front brake”!
And last but certainly far from being least; the Harley representative will look you straight in the eye and tell you that it is NORMAL that you have oil temps in excess of 300 degrees and that it will not result in any long term damage to the engine!
I am slowly resolving these problems at my own expense, merely because I love my TG and don’t want to part with it! But I find MOCO’s attitude highly insulting! DISCLAIMER:
No one should interpret these remarks as being condemnation of the 2009 Tri-Glide; however, if you wish to interpret these remarks as condemnation of MOCO…I wont argue that point!
