Default Saddlebag locks

Awhile back, a dirt bag broke the locks on my saddlebags. I have the rigid locking leather saddlebags, part number 91615-09A. One of the locks I was able to fix, the other disappeared along with a pair of $100 gloves. Tried to find a replacement lid. The lock cup is manufactured as a part of the lid. Harley Davidson refused to help with this problem. I checked Ebay and Craigs' list and found nothing. I then decided to create a work around. It aint pretty, but it works. Found what I needed at Walmart and Lowes. The assembly I created from plumbing items. I'll post pics so if anyone else has this problem they can t least see what I came up with.

Is that a 1/2" copper pipe cover? If it is, you may want to watch those sharp edges on cutting into your bags. Go to a local fab shop and have them punch you out some SS ones and buff them up.

That's a good tip. Thanks. This locking assembly is a work in progress.
