HD Franklin mint pocket watch
My wife found in an antique shop,a HD franklin pocket watch and stand. The stand is a eagle with spread wings upon which the pocket watch can sit. The previous owner must have wound the watch too tight one time as it no longers works.
I was wondering if anyone else had one of these and if you ever had to have it fixed? I received this today as a gift and I am thinking of taking it to a watch repair place tomorrow. Just curious what they might charge to replace the stem and get it running again?

It's probably just a battery, should be less than 10 bucks. I've got a Franklin hd pocket watch in the same stand and I've had to replace the battery once

I never would have thought it was just a watch battery. With the link provided by Wiltat2 I got the case open and no battery. But the battery number was inscribed on the inside of the case so tomorrow I can get a new one. Great info guys thanks a lot! This made my wife happy that she didn't just buy me a desk ornament.

Hi, I have three Franklin Mint Harley pockets watchs, however none of the watchs have batteries in them. Could someone tell me what is the number on the batteries. All three are the same size, such as the Billy Bike with the eagle stand.
Thanks
Pete

I too have one. It's never been out of the stand. Got it as a gift. Not my cup of tea!

Go to EBay. Pull up Harley pocket watches. There are a lot of them for sale. I picked up a Fatboy pockets watch for under $50. Came with the leather pouch & stand. Used it once. Quests I really didn't need it after all.
