Default When did they change Softail frames?

I noticed this morning that the frame on my '07 Fatboy is different from my '03 FXST. Specifically, the head tube at the front of the frame is square and beefier on the Fatboy.

I didn't know they had either changed or beefed up Softail frames. Anyone know when and if they did it for all Softail models?

thanks!

I'm pretty sure they changed the frame when they started offering Softails with the 200mm rear tire.

Are you implying only fatboys need beefy frames?

I think the softail frame change was across the spectrum in 2007. I think it will once again change in 2013 or 14. I heard that it may get slightly longer. I heard that there will be quite a few changes to all models in the near future.

I for one am a fan of the new frame. Makes the bike handle better in my opinion.

I really don't want to sell the FXST. It is much easier to ride around town, like going to work. The Fatboy is a real locomotive out on the freeway. It is f-a-s-t. I never had a Harley "revver" before but this one just wails.

I had a 2006 FXST it was the first softail in the regular line-up to have a 200mm tire. Here's a pic:
