Well,

First off, I don't own a '07, but I would buy one, if Susie was worth anything on trade-in! Because she is not, I decided to get crazy with the customizing!

Bought my dad a new '06 XL 883 only because they knocked a full grand off the price over the '07.

Whines, noises, etc. are what Harley-Davidson's are! It's called CHARACTER, boys and girls! enjoy it! A bike that is too perfect, is too boring!

If I could swing it, I would buy a new 2007 Road King Classic in a flash! I want a suede blue and black one though...gotta love the '60's shade of blue! I would probably go ahead with the 103 kit and have the fins diamond cut on the cylinders and heads, with a SERT or PC III dyno tune with some fishtail mufflers and a round air cleaner!

SERIOUSLY though....those of you new to H/D's....the whine and valvetrain noises etc. is just part of the character, that makes you love them! These bikes become like your kids, you love them because they are NOT perfect! I could not be happier with my Big Twin, and I'm sure my Dad will love his sporty when it arrives, in crate in 3 weeks! (I'm really excited about this!!! i hope my old man loves his new Harley-Davidson! His 1st one!)

Joe

'07 FLHP, 5000 miles love it, other than some problems with the starter have had no troubles. No noises, transmission or otherwise. Rode it down to Daytona in Oct. (from N.Y.) and getting ready to ride down again this Thursday.

We've had our '07 Heritage Classic about4 weeks and after 17,500 miles on an '02 883Hugger, it feels like heaven!! We're still grinnin' every time we take it out! Only have a little over 400 miles on the new scoot though, because the weather has been so lousy! [:'(] No problems so far except not enough time to ride!

100% chance of rain today and mid-40's, so I guess we'll be looking at it and dreaming of all the rides we'll betaking soon.

Come on SPRING!!

Youmention a letteryou recently received from HD telling you to takethe bike in for an upgradeto cool it down? Is this the same "torque smoothing" fuel map upgrade they offered last fall or something new?
I'm curious because I have an 07 Ultra and just received a letter reminding me totake advantage of last fall's free upgrade. I was wondering if there is a second upgrade specifically to cool the bike down.
Thanks
Bob

My '07 Street Bob is about my 12th Harley since 1980. I only have 350 miles on her (it's cold here) but so far so good. Pulled strong when i get her and seems better witht he SE A/C, PC III and Thunderheader. I'll let you guys know more after Bike Week.

I received the same letter. Asked the dealer and was told the Stage 1 download included the retune mentioned in the letter.

BTW, LOVE my 07 Heritage Softail Classic. Over 2200 miles and not a problem. Lugging noise when I lugged itbut don't lug it anymore.

It's good to see this thread with positive comments on the '07s (I've read all the negative ones). I'm about to move on from my '05 Sportster 1200 and the Road Glide is on my short list (3 bikes, all with frame-mounted fairings). My main criteria are weather protection, overall comfort, and ridability out-of -the-box (don't want to HAVE to do any Stage anything—been there and done that on other Harleys). A lot of people here seem very happy with bone-stock '07s, which is good to hear.
