Who has been stopped for having earphones in while riding? Anyone?
I just started wearing my shure in ear earphones with the ipod on my bike with my half helmet. I have earphones inside the lining of my full face, but this is new with the half helmet. My ears are not covered, and you can see my earphones. Has anyone had problems with this (meaning been pulled over?) I know, the lectures are about to begin. Just compare me to the guy in his loud subaru with the boom boom music and talking on the cell, who is paying more attention to the road? I guarantee you I am. Oh, I can also still hear what is going on around me. I know in CA where I live this is illegal to have 2 earphones in, but I just don't care. In fact, why should it be illegal to have music in your ears on a motorcycle? In a car I understand, but on a bike is a lot different. Just goes to show that most if not all law makers are driving cars. What a shame.

I got a ticket going through Palm Springs with head phones 30 years on my 350 honda. Didnt know it was against the law at the time, but once I found out it was I abided by it. You have have a good excuse for when you are pulled over though, 'but I just don't care.' Cops will LOVE to hear that one. I dont think its an option in the United States to pick and choose the laws you 'CARE' about. Good luck with that though, heaven forbid you should be without your tunes while riding your bike.

I use Shure in-ear headphones, and have passed LEOs without any troubles. I have the E3s, they're very small, and the wire goes up over the top of my ears and down my back, so I doubt anyone even notices that they're headphones rather than earplugs.

Yea....saying "I knew it was illegal, but I don't care" is a sure fire way to get out of a ticket. NOT. It's a sure fire way for Mr. Officer to find out how many OTHER laws you don't care about.
BUT....as an LEO, I have never stopped a m/c for wearing earphones. Cars, yes. Cagers are already insulated from the sounds around them. Why do they need to insulate themselves even more?

Good idea, cuz as you know, the most important thing is getting away with breaking the law.
Well, my choice is earplugs with the wind howling and not being able to hear anything else, or the headphones listening to music, and not being able to hear anything else. I prefer the music. Any law that says you can't listen to music instead of wind noise is just stupid. Besides, I can turn the music off if necessary, but I can't turn off the wind noise!
Also, I don't listen to the music when riding around town, only when I'm on long highway rides.

Aw geez.......what were you in school....the hall monitor?
Stop running!!! I'm going to tell!!
Better than that! I taught Junior High School english in the 70's in inner city Minneapolis for a couple years. I had to take the knives away from the kids who were going to fight that day, and tell on them. I had to tell on the kids with the crack in thier backpacks. And I had to tell Woody's mom that he had died of an overdose of herion in the third floor bathroom, cuz nobody TOLD on him!! So try your preachin on someone else.

While I don't think its a good idea, that's not the point here.
I know several people who ride with headphones, and see even more every day as they get on their bikes when I'm at work.
I've never met anyone that has been ticketed, or even stopped for headphones.
Just make sure they are stuck good, because you don't want to be messing with them falling out while riding.
