Default How to get ciggerette smell out of leather jacket?

not sure if this is the right place to post this.I bought a leather jacket off ebay was too small, friend bought one off craigslist was too big,so we traded,he and his wife are heavy smokers and jacket although still new with tags still on,it reeks of ciggerettes.Anyone know how to get the smell out quickly?I have been riding around to air it out,but doesn't seem to be helping.I have removed the zip in liner and wife will wash that, and been spraying inside of jacket with "fabreeze" to no avail.Any suggestions?I also checked with dry cleaners $50 to $65.

I had a old letter jacket from High School and hung it out under Our car port for about a month. Mother nature really did the trick. Good luck.

Believe it or not you can wash your leather jacket in the washing machine (ever get caught in the rain?). Just make sure you use cold water and don't put it in the drier! Let it air dry and hang it in your garage for at least a few weeks. I have had the same thing happen to me and this worked for me.

put the jacket in a trash bag with a spritz of cologne, or your fav air freshener.....There is also deodorizer in plastic tubs you could set inside there. Should make short work of it.
