One of the many things I like about this forum is that no matter how serious the question you are sure to get about a 10 to 1 ratio of answers that are sure to jack you up.
Believe it or not you can wash your leather jacket in the washing machine (ever get caught in the rain?). Just make sure you use cold water and don't put it in the drier! Let it air dry and hang it in your garage for at least a few weeks. I have had the same thing happen to me and this worked for me.
I've gotten leather jackets soaked from rain, and just hung them to dry, but the leather would start fading and looked like it was cracking, probably should have used some leather conditioner on it or something.
