Take it to a dry cleaner and ask him if he can treat it to ozone. Not all dry cleaners have the equipment to do that. Second suggestion is to look for a fire restoration company and ask them to ozone it. Ozone is a gas that kills odors and does not affect the appearance of the jacket.
You can wash it, but as it is a new jacket I don't think you will like the looks or feel after that. You would be better off to send it to a proffessional leather cleaner.

Theres a spray can of that stuff Ozium I thing the spelling is right.. used it yrs ago on a car we got that was smoked in..auto stores should have it...
I dislike the smell of cologne, perfume, or any scented dryer sheets on my clothes just about as much as I dislike the smell of smoke on them. I have washed a leather jacket with cig smoke smell repeatedly by hand with not complete success.
The best thing that worked for me, but it took a while, was pack the jacket in newspaper and change the newspaper every so often. The newspaper will absorb the odor and not leave another odor.
Do not try to cover the smell with another smell unless you really like the new overpowering smell.
hang it up wrapped up in a trash bag with 6 or 8 charcoal bricks in it the charcoal will absorb the odor I have done this with cars and it works real well
