I work for a big company and their big drive is TSR, total shareholder return, regardless of NOS. If a product line isn't above or have a sustainable plan to reach 12% it gets the axe or is sold.

Granted harley fork sliders have been chromed and sent over from Japan since long ago.
Plan on getting chrome forks for my Ultra next Spring. If your comment above's correct, I will not purchase them and save my $500 plus dollars for an extra vacation trip next summer.

HD suspension is made by Showa, a Japanese company. I can appreciate the want to buy an American made product, but If you don't want to buy chrome forks for your bike because they may not be made in the USA then you might as well sell the bike as the brakes are Itialian, wiring harness and most electronic parts are Japanese along with the suspension.
