Looked at a '52 a while back. Not running. The guy wanted $5600. It was an aftermarket frame, tanks, fender, and front end not original, and the fender had a huge dent in it. The barrels were .070" over (unusable), and some smaller parts missing. I figured there had to be a crack in the cases by the crank bushing so I told him thanks, but no thanks. An hour later he called me and offered it for $3300.
To the 'right' person, maybe a good deal. Like someone who wanted to put a Billy Bike together, Hmmmmm.
BUT in reality.......... what he has there, is nothing more than a '66-'69 Shovelhead FX (even tho they didn't exist, then) in a RIGID frame, w/o the front fender, that hasn't run in 20 yrs.
Also depends on what he has, 'for paper'.
Maybe one jus' needs to look at it's "potential", tho:
Gump's right! All this thing is is a pretty ratty looking shovel...not much original looking there from what I can see........and it doesn't run.....for 20 years! Which brings up another interesting question in my feeble old mind: if it hasn't run in 20 years...why in the world is it still registered? I guess I read that part wrong? Maybe he meant the last time it was registered? I got a headache! I don't see this thing as being worth any 3500!
