Nice guy -- but if he's riding and you're riding and you pass each other in different directions, how does he know what your speed was? Do they now have radar that measures speed of on-coming vehicles while they're also moving?

Would have been a ticket up here. Buddy of mine at work got a ticket for no lic plate a few weeks ago. We were running new bikes from the PDI/Collision Center over to the main store. Inastead of bolting a dealer plate on each individual bike before riding it we have a plate bolted to an orange H-D vest that we use. He forgot to put it on and rode the 3 miles between stores. Got withing 100 yards of the dealership and got nailed by a motorcycle cop. Figured riding a new bike that close to the dealership the cop might have given him a warning, instead he got a $320 ticket.

Fokk he was going 16 over the posted limit, cop had every right to pull him over and was lucky not to get a ticket...speeding is speeding Harley or not! As far as I concerned he did stop a as you put it a "bad guy". I think his point was a fellow rider gave him a break.

As one of the many people on here (I'm assuming) that are radar qualified I'd say yes. They can run radar whether or not they are moving or at an idle in whatever direction they want to. That is if the cop was in his car....I'm assuming he was and not on the bike. If it was a motorcycle cop I'd have no idea bout the radar.

Check this...I have been pulled over 5 times for doing 60 or better in a 55 zone on my Yamaha (no ticket as yet). But I can run 70+ on the same roads on the HD and they don't look at me. I am not complaining just wondering.

where've you been? i got a ticket in 93 for doing 63 in a 45 (just got back from germany) from a trooper going the other direction. showed me the radar, plus i knew i was going over 60, just got into the groove and didn't think about being back in the states.

Why wouldn't U want to be polite all time.? Usually lawbreakers are the ones that don't like them.
At 16 over the limit very few would look the other way and just check out Ur license...So what's with the muttering.....

As a retired 25 year vet as a LEO, will tell you, most times, treat them right, they'll treat you right
