I've had a horsehide jacket from Legendary for a couple of years. It was very stiff in the beginning but I'm telling you, this jacket just keeps getting better with time. I love it. And by the way, it's against the law in the U.S. for horses to be killed for their hides. However, there is still a fairly large population of horses in this country, of which some die of natural causes to keep the industry intact.

+1 on foxcreek gear. I've had one of their classic II jackets for about 8 years and chaps for about 3. Had to go a size larger on the jacket when I got it and customer service was great. Don't care much for their gloves but everything else I'm satisfied with. I ended up spending a lot of coin on my leathers but I'll have them for a while.
