Default Flickering tail light

I was riding behind my buddy today and his brake light was flickering on and off without even touching the brake lever. When we got home we discovered that just by VERY lightly wiggling the lever up and down it would cause his brake light to flicker on and off.

Has anyone ever experienced this? we topped off the brake fluid on his 2006 EGC and no difference. Is there an adjustment somewhere?

You need to set the swith inside the lever.

There's a button inside the handlebar switch housing that activates the brake light.
It's mounted on the inside of the housing and protrudes through a hole and up against the brake lever.
If you haven't done this before, you can wreak havoc in there and drive yourself nuts getting all the wiring back in place so nothing gets pinched when you put the housing halves back together. (It really sucks when you let the smoke out of wiring.)
If the light flickers, chances are the switch is ok, just needs to be readjusted - which will require taking the switch housing off the bars.
I wouldn't do anything with a manual, first. Especially if you're new at this. Seriously.
Then be prepared to talk to someone who knows what's going on in there, and can show you how.
The switch, if you end up needing to replace it goes for about $60.00. I don't recommend going aftermarket here; there are just some things that, in my experience, just don't work as well as what the factory offers. (unlike the factory rear brake light switch, that leave a lot to be desired).

Very good explanation, except for taking the switch housing off the bars. Sometimes just making certain the metal "V" shape wedge is pushing the switch forward is all it takes.
