downtime is a bummer.. I looked at the code list posted before and don't see a 44.

Check the wiring harness, my engine light was staying on, and after resetting codes coming up clear and all kinds of test they finally found a wire frounding out in the harness. Once they corrected it, no more light.

Yeah. Tried a new circuit breaker... didn't fix it. I've gone over every wire & connection, but haven't found anything (although, I'm now sure that's where the problem lies - some wire is fudged somewhere).

I'm at the point where I think I'll just run it over to the dealer and pay them to figure it out.

** Update ** (I hate when I do a search, find a thread that discusses the problem I'm trying to solve, and the thread ends without anyone saying what the resolution was)

I took the bike to Conrad's HD to let their techs figure it out. It *was* a bad stator (it had an open ... I was just checking if it was putting out the proper voltage, which it seemed to be, or had a ground somewhere).

I'll update again after I get the bike back tomorrow & actually see that it's fixed.

Maybe. It's done & paid for, just have to pick it up. Heading over there in a few minutes.

OK. Picked up the bike, rode it home in the rain... and everything is working. It's a beautiful thing.

My dealer experience with Conrad's HD was outstanding. They were professional. They were fast. They were thorough. The cost was reasonable for the work they did. I am nothing short of impressed and would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

The dealer is on the I-55 frontage road, just north of I-80 (exit at rt 52, go a couple hundred feet east to the frontage road, turn north on the frontage road). If you are in the area, stop by.

Glad to hear you are back on the road. Supposed to stop raining tomorrow, hopefully we'll be out and about. 13 days out of 15 has been raining.
