if you send the neck with the vin # and i thank 6 inches of the frame at the neck to harley davidson they will sell you a new frame. then just put everything on the new frame . the new one will have the same vin #.
A few years ago some wrecked a harley on bridge and the MOCO requested the frame to see why it failed like it did. Contact the MOCO and see if can get a new frame from them for your old one. Laying a bike down on it's side and totallying it for frame failure is quite interesting.
limited information.
difficult to provide answer.
If bike has value the insurance company may choose to request frame replacement.
If bike is several years old they may wish to just write it off.
(Bad for you most times/less $)
The tab on frame top for engine guard sometimes gets torn out..
could that be the split??
If that is problem, you could weld tab back on.
PROBLEM:
if you owe money.. your opinion/choices might be limited because of insurance and lender.
it's an 06. and i've never heard if a bike getting totaled from laying it down. it didn't even hit nothing. I did, when I came off the bike. I think i owe maybe 5k on it
