Default Dyna Beads...WOW!!!

Just installed Dyna Beads (tiny ceramic micro-beads) http://www.innovativebalancing.com on my '09 Sportster 1200 Custom (1 oz. front wheel, 2 oz. rear wheel).

What a difference, a very noticeable improvement. At 60-65 MPH where the Harley shakes would normally begin, now it's smooth as glass. Thought I was traveling at a lower speed.

This is what I hope to expect with this unique balancing system:
  • Perpetually balanced wheels
  • Longer tire life
  • Greater stability at higher speeds
  • Better handling
  • Enhanced performance from a smoother ride
  • Improved gas mileage due to all of the above
They're a bitch to install with the wheels on the bike so set yourself aside a couple of hours and some good tunes, it will definitely be worth it. Very important: Make sure to not break the bead (rim seal) when taking the air out of the tires. Did front wheel first: Jacked up front end until front wheel was slightly off the ground; slowly bled air out of the valve stem then removed valve core. Then followed the instructions. When done with the front wheel, I re-installed the valve core and inflated tire to a little over 30 psi, lowered bike back down then brought the air pressure down to exactly 30 psi with the gauge. Repeated for rear wheel, bringing it to 36 psi, as per the Owner's Manual (rear wheel is going to take a lot longer than the front but your forearms are gonna get a workout from turning the damn wheel so many times).

Easiest way I found to get those damn little beads into the valve stem, but still time consuming, is to fill the clear tube on the valve stem about a third of the way full of the micro-beads, cap the end of the tube so none of the beads can escape, then turn the wheel in the same direction (I did forward) until they've all deposited themselves into the valve stem. Continue repeating until that wheel is done.

I now have 3 "mods" on my bike that are largely undetectable:
  1. BrightAssLights tail light
  2. Denso Iridium fine-wire spark plugs
  3. Dyna Beads
I love the way it rides.

Yep, dyna beads are great, no ugly wheel weights and the tire stays in balance throughout it's lifespan.

I've been thinking about these for a while. Getting ready to replace my front tire and I'm going to order some and try them out. Thanks for the review.

I have been wondering about those things. Wanted to post here to see what comments you get. I trust cHarley's judgment, so I may have my answer.

I put them in my tires & didn't have to spin the wheel. The trick is to angle the bottle so just a few beads pour through the tube at a time. Tapping the tube or bottle with my fingernail helps the beads to pour in S_L_O_W_L_Y a few at a time. It works every time. About 6-7 minutes for 1 oz & double for 2. Patience is the key.
