If you plan on drinking, you are at the mercy of the hotels and motels. or for a night or two camp out at the Cabbage Patch and get the real flavor of bikefest.

If you don't drink to excess, stay north up around St Augustine, or south down around Lake Mary. Both great places, I like St Aug better.

If you don't have to be RIGHT in town....check out Deland, New Smyrna Beach.....Edgewater. There are lots of places just outside Daytona, but if you want to stay right IN the action...you pay for it.
Expensive if you are travelling alone....but a room split four ways.....not so bad.

I will be camping at the Cabbage Patch again. $10.00 a night. Had a great time during Bike Week 08. Stayed in Hotels other years and spent the $250 I saved this time on bike stuff . The boobies, beer and bands were great.

You pay for the atmosphere. For instance my family rented a house on Govenors Island in Laconia NH for two weeks last year. Total rental fee was $6,800 after tax and clean up fees ect, ect. But my point is the week prior to Bike week was 2K, the week of Bike week the house price doubled and was 4K. It was great fun though!

I've heard about this cabbage patch place. One of these days I'll have to make it down and check it out.

Default Biketoberfest & Bikeweek

Forget reservations, the last three years I found a room within three blocks of Main Street on A1A for less than the price of the same room reserved. The hotels up the room price for reservations versus walking in during event week, there's always plenty of rooms. Last year my room was on ground floor, parked my bike right in front of my room door,$67.00 a night at the Comfort Inn.
