Each to his own. If you've never ridden one then you should give it a try. Most folks are to scared to try it. Ride one of these and hop back on a Fat Boy and you feel like you're riding a moped. If you look one over really good, you'll find they are anything but cheap or cheesy. I've never looked back. A V twin just won't do anymore.

Couldn't agree more. Saw a guy roll up to a show once on a Boss and we all knew he couldn't handle it. Apparently enough of us all thought the same thing because when he started going over, there must have been 1/2 dozen of us 'right' there at the 'right' time and the bike never fell completely over. Nobody got hurt and all was good, but what a STUPID so-called bike.

I am laughing my arse off at these replies!! You guys are a hoot! I didn't start this thread..just replied to it. I am not offended by any names so you can call em whatever you like. I've had a few Boss Hoss bikes and now ride a V8 Chopper. Used to ride a Harley. I've seen a few folks who couldn't handle a HD, too! These bikes aren't for everybody. There are a few V8 bike riders who ride their Harleys but most wind up selling them due to non usage. Some have to keep them cause their HD friends won't ride with them otherwise. Some folks knock V8 bikes cause it makes em feel better about themselves and others knock em because it scares the s**t out of them.
I was just saying that a lot of folks shrug the choppers off but if you rode one you'd get off smiling. 99% of the V8 riders rode V twins at some point.
You have to enjoy talking to people, though. You can pull into a lot with a 1000 bikes and you are surrounded in short order.
Riteway, I didn't mean to imply I was a non V-Twin lover (I love V-Twins, I love Harley Davidson) and yes there is a V8 forum.
<I wouldn't own one with a V twin in it let along a big heavy unmanageable V-8.>
Hmmm. Another myth. It is 110lbs heavier than a Ultra Classic and I promise you that it can out "slow ride" one all day long. Incredible handling for a chopper. The CG is so low it handles like a dream. Just got back from carving it up in the smokies.
I wouldn't mind test-driving one, but will never own one for that kind of sticker price. For $48K, I'd want to buy Ultra and Softail Deluxe. Think I'd be more happy to enjoy 2 bikes for many excuses and reasons I could find.
I have ridden a Boss Hoss on two occasions for their demo rides (got the tee shirt to prove it!) and I loved it. The bike is easy to ride and that torque is amazing. Don't know if I'd have one as my daily driver, but if I had the cash I'd buy one for sometimes rides. It was a thrill to ride. Just something different. To each his own, and I'd never knock someone for making a choice that is different from the choice I would make.
CLRD2LND.. LOVE your chopper version! And welcome to the forum!
I just test rode one last month at the Boss Hoss national rally in Paris TN. If money wasn't an option I would have left with one. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't trade my SG for it if I had to ride it every day. I'd rather fight a bear then ride it across country! But man what a rush 445 HP and 445 Tq, scary fast. I would guess it's allot like riding on the hood of a NASCAR! I would love one to go on short rides. I was really surprised at how well it handled. I even found a few pot holes to run over and the ride was better than my SG!
At the end of the day the engine puts out too much heat and the ride position is too spread out to be comfortable for a long ride. It would make a great 2nd bike.
As for these V8 choppers - It looks like they hold enough gas to get them from gas station to gas station.
There are alot of very close minded people on this forum - you just have to ignore them.
