I dunno, some reason they keep the number TOP SECRET. However, they estimated to have it closed up in about 60 days, that was the end of Sept. However based off their myspace profile, they have a following of about 625 and as eager as all participants are to milk info, i reckon almost all registered have added em. Id guesstimate it to be somewhere around 600-700 entries so far. I aint never been one to be good at guessing though, lol.
If you count the actual individual names posting here, and on the Hoka Hey Yahoo Group, and on the Hoka Hey Blog, I think your count will be well under 50 including the Hoka Hey organizers. Let's assume that 80% of the registered participants never join or post anything anywhere. From the previous assumption, I project a maximum of 250 entrants to date.
I am going to enter this event because I think I can be a top 10 finisher based on my competitive LD rally track record and my experience as a rallymaster. I hope the $500,000 is real, but even if it is not, the Challenge is more than worth the cost of admission.
