Nothing wrong with fuel injection, I've been running it for 15 years in my cars (starting with GM crossfire TBI) and since 1999 on my bikes. Never had the FI leave me stuck yet...I HAVE had a pilot jet get clogged and stick me in the middle of no where West Virginia, and no I wasn't carrying extra jets.
Generally you will get better peak power with carbs, with seem counter-intuitive to me on a harley....but better overall driveability on with FI. Not to mention that motorcycle FI is simplistic compared to automobiles, once it's tuned you are good to go.
