Helmets in "Sons of Anarchy"

I recorded Sons of Anarchy and watched it yesterday and I noticed their half helmets were very low-profile (looked like they all wore the same). Anybody know if those were just "novelty" helmets or an actual brand of DOT helmet? I'd like to have one that slim if they're for real.

One thing I noticed is that they had the plastic bicycle style latch (one that the two pieces clip together). Definitely not strong enough for DOT ...

I didn't notice the latches, but I have these and they claim to meet DOT specs. I hope so since we use and like them.

PS A while back I got a "lot" of 12 of those on ebay for about $60 including shipping.

Super Seer sells them also with their helmets. They dont say if their DOT or not however.

They are novelty helmets.

I don't know why they bother with helmets at all. They seem to live in an area where an extended firefight with automatic weapons, explosions and massive fireballs don't attract the law. Who's worried about a helmet ticket there?
