The main reason I wear a vest is to keep my Kindeys Warm, Keep your kindeys warm you'll keep your blood warm. Make sure when you buy a vest it comes down far enough in the back to cover your kindeys when settin on your ride.
I worn a vest for over 20yrs. It has no center patch unless I were to join a club.
It has severed me well, could replace it but it has road rash on it from going down at 60mph and I see them as battle scars.
If you want to wear a patch on your back, stick to one of those you find at rallies or in the J & P Cycles catalog. The big eagle sitting on the HD logo, for instance.

I wear a denim vest over my leather jacket - the vest I have had for years and has more Ford patches than motorcycle patches. But it carries memories and the patches are part of that - the older I get the more help I need remembering. Nothing big in back, nothing with location, no rockers. I seldom wear the vest alone - if it is warm enough to ride without leather then it is warm enough to ride without the vest, but I do have bags that others may not for carrying crap.

But please don't do the "Lone Wolf - No Club" patch I've been seeing lately. That one screams, "I'm Clueless!!!!" Or the ones that have top & bottom rockers - one I've seen has "Live to Ride" and "Ride to Live" rockers. S'posed to be OK, but since it ends up being a 3 piece patch, someone is going to take issue with it.
Surprised someone ain't already chimed in with the ol' "It's a free country; I'll wear what I want!" routine. Y'all are either gettin' downright edjimicated, or civilized, ain't sure which!

Yeah...Wearing a patch that says you're not a patchholder? I guess it's too simple to just not wear a patch in the first place?? I get a headache trying to figure that one out.

I wear the Harley denim vest with the US flag that covers the entire back with a patch at the top that says; "try burining this one". I sew on patches or add pins from my various stops. I think it says something about a rider.
