Hey Guy's, Does anyone know if the yellow jack works well with a 2005 lowrider? Looking to buy one and would like to get it right the first time. Really appreciate any info. TXY Bim
Do any of you guys secure the bike with straps to the floor or a fixed object? Or do you just leave it "balanced" on the jack? It looks a little precarious up there.
I do not do much 'pushing/pulling' on my bike while on the jack (oil changes/detailing) so
I normally do not use tie downs. I may want to get into moving the bike while on the lift and for that..I will use a strap. Definately if removing a tire or other major maintenance.
And again, as been stated here..do not over tighten the handle when lifting the bike.
If you overtighten the handle, that means you have to use more torque to loosen it and lower your bike. That may lead to you over OPENING the valve allowing your bike to drop at a quicker pace than anticipated.
For what I need, rhe yellow hack is great. Sears also has a silver jack that I believe has the same clearance height as the yellow one....but is less costly.
Does anyone have any trouble with the center of balance when removing a wheel, such as the bike wanting to drop to the heavy side once the wheel is removed?

I'd have absolutely no doubt that the center of balance would shift (since I see the shift when removing saddle bags)....that would be one instance when I'd strap the bike to the stand for sure.

I bought the gold jack after buying the red, yellow, blue, black, chatruese, pink, green, tan, tangelo, octogenarian, episcipalian, martian, hungarian, homosapien.. Each one had its advantages, but the gold comes with a real neat drink holder.... Heck, really all I have is the red one, it does the job for me....

I have had a yellow sears jack for about 6 months. Something inside is now not working correctly as the "locked" positions no longer hold the jack up.
I have been debating about just taking it back (if I can find the receipt) rather than just fiddling around trying to fix it.
It worked fine for 6 months or so with the RKC, now I am afraid to leave anything on it for more than a few minutes.
J and S. No reciept, No problem. Guaranteed forever and sturdy as hell. Last one you will ever buy.
Yep, my wife called this one - and she's pretty frugal.
I told her about the options and that I was going to try the Sears red to see if it worked. She said, from what you've told me you've read, you're going to return it anyway, so just get the good one.
I ordered my J&S that night and don't regret it at all; it's a great piece of equipment! And, it works on Dynas without any conversion kits necessary.
