my sister and her boyfriend had my scooter this weekend.they were riding when the rear tire sidewall came apart.
i have found out that the metzler tires from brazil are the problem (if this is a repost im sorry)
these tires were made 6-8 months ago. i dont have the dates. but pleasecheck your tires for side wear.I was told they have recovered most of the tires but the stealership still had twoin stock and had removed them when i complained about the safetyissue. this tire was only 3 months old when i bought it. it only had 3k on the tire sorry about the pics. they weredone on my carmera phone
im thinking all tires from brazil there was a front tire at the stealership that had the same problem. i dont know all the details. i know that it happened to me and i dont want it to happen to you.

I just put on a new set of Metzelers less than one month ago and the rear 880 Marathon after 70 miles broke the belt in the tire. This punctured the tube and the tire went flat.
I was told by the local Harley dealer that Metzelers should not be ude on a large bike such as the Heritage. The tire do not have the sidewall support like the Dunlops. I think the dealer is pulling my leg - anybody chime in on this?

I got the 880's on front and back of my bike, had no traction issues. I lay curves at 70-80 mph. Rode at 90 on the interstate in the rain. no problems either. To me they ride better than dunlops.

If your tire was made in Brazil.. as it clearly states on my front 880.. What should be done? Are they replacing the Brazilian tires free of charge??
Haven't checked the rear yet...
