Hate to break the boy's heart, but the first one on his list is in the mountain time zone...

Many of the states mentioned are in the eastern time zone. The map is totally screwed up.

Boy must be from New York City - anything past Philly is wilderness...

#3 - The Iowa River run...BS
The Wisconsin side is way better, and traffic in Dubuque sucks.

As the writer of the 1st two installments, and the intro here... "You could divide the country into a bunch of different regions, or even do each of the 50 different states, but for the sake of brevity, each one is roughly going to cover one of the four time zones." It just seemed simpler to use the 4 time zones as a guide, but not cut any of the states in half. Half of Kentucky and Tennessee are in the east and half are in central, and a portion of the Dakotas, and Nebraska are in Mountain. Indiana can't decide which it wants to be in. So that is why we did it this way.

Well Rushmore is close to a half days ride from the Central time zone. That ain't brevity.
And from Dubuque to McGregor you don't even see the river half the time.
You need to get out more.

"A portion" of the Dakotas and Nebraska? Try HALF.
