Chrome is the new black.

 

I've seen some mega-cool looking blacked out bikes, but every bike I've called gorgeous was chromed out.

No show bike, but mine:

 

Chrome is not out, but black is the trend especially with my generation (I'm 30). I stuck to chrome.

I also plan on keeping my FLHXS for a long time. My father had his troublehead since the early 80's and still has it today. You don't see that these days as people trade in bikes almost as quickly as they trade in vehicles.

I appreciate knowing my bike will age as years pass and newer crap hits the floor. To me this only adds character.

Not to mention to me it is counter productive to buy a bike that is already filled with chrome from the factory just to rip it all apart and powder coat it all. I would rather compliment the chrome that is already there.

in my experience black is the worst color to keep clean/looking clean....whether it be a car or a bike...for example, guarantee a black wheel will show dust more than a chrome wheel...

To the op. I like a good mixture of both black and chrome...

 

It's exactly why I dropped a black exhaust and black/metal A/C on mine, to tone down the chrome. I lik ethe blend, but more black than chrome.
